PHILADELPHIA — For the first time in its proud history of sponsoring crews at both the Henley Royal Regatta and the Women's Henley Regatta, the Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta will provide full coverage of its sponsored crews at this year's Henley on www.dadvail.org.

The two crews sponsored by the Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta Organizing Committee and Aberdeen Asset Management Inc. — the Florida Institute of Technology men's varsity eight and the Purdue University women's varsity eight — will be covered daily on dadvail.org. The regularly updated reporting will span from the action taking place on England's famed River Thames to behind-the-scenes looks at both crews.

Coverage will be delivered by means of a live blog on the dadvail.org homepage, video interviews from Henley and highlighted by full-length feature stories. Fans, alumni and followers of both FIT and Purdue, along with all American rowing enthusiasts, will enjoy unprecedented access never before seen from American teams at Henley.

In addition to wire-to-wire coverage of FIT and Purdue, dadvail.org will also provide updates on Philadelphia-area high school crews from The Baldwin School (girls), Malvern Prep (boys), Merion Mercy Academy (girls) and St. Joseph's Prep (boys). Additional information pertaining to crews from Philadelphia's Boathouse Row can also be expected.

The Purdue women's varsity eight is coming off a thrilling victory at the Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta and will begin its pursuit of the Henley Women's Regatta Sports Council Cup on Friday afternoon. The Boilermakers, led by head coach Dave Kucik and women's head coach Sandy Calfo, will look to capture the title won by Drexel University, a fellow Aberdeen Dad Vail participant, one year ago. The Women's Henley will conclude on Sunday, June 19.

Florida Tech, making its first appearance at the Royal Henley Regatta since the late 1970s, will compete against crews from around the world for the coveted Temple Challenge Cup beginning on June 29. The Royal Henley concludes on July 3. At the 2011 Aberdeen Dad Vail, head coach Jim Granger's crew finished second in one of the most competitive men's heavyweight eight championships in recent history.

In both the Henley Royal Regatta and the Henley Women's Regatta, crews compete in head-to-head, single-elimination races (i.e. one-on-one) over a course stretching 1 mile, 550 yards down the River Thames.
