Dad Vail Regatta Alumni Challenge

The Dad Vail Regatta Alumni Challenge is an exhilarating, competitive opportunity for Alumni to return to Dad Vail and compete again in the largest US intercollegiate regatta of the year.

The Dad Vail Alumni Challenge is a 500-meter race. Each crew registering to compete will enter an eight-oared shell boat.   Crews are responsible for arranging their own equipment such as shells and oars and making arrangements to launch their shells. For each race category, gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the first, second the third-place respective champions.

The Alumni Challenge offers a tremendous opportunity for teams to reconnect and obtain media exposure for their alma mater.  Entry fees are $900 per boat and all proceeds benefit the Dad Vail Regatta, a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania non-profit corporation Federally exempt from income tax under IRC Section 501(c)3., Community Rowing in Philadelphia, and winners of the Annual Dad Vail Art Poster Contest.

This year’s event will be staged in Philadelphia on the Schuylkill River course on Saturday, May 13, 2017. Please contact Kirsten Morasco, kirstenmorasco@outlook.com, for any questions regarding racing and to register.
